Azelastine spray is a fast-acting antihistamine used to treat nasal symptoms of allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, such as runny nose, sneezing, congestion, and itchy nose. It works by blocking histamine (H1-receptor antagonist) and is often used twice daily, with a rapid onset of action (within 15–30 minutes). It is available both by prescription (Astepro, Astelin) and over-the-counter.
